The Governing Council in Osun State University embarked on a tour to the six campuses to inspect projects in the institution.
The council led by Mallam Yusuf Ali SAN started the inspection on Wednesday to access the developmental projects in the six campuses.
Some of the projects that the council inspected were the University hostels, tennis court, basketball court, libraries, health centres among others.
According to the Council Chairman, there is a need for the council to see with their eyes the development that has taken place from 2016 till date.
“There will be challenges but in our little way, we have been trying. Most basic thing that the system owe staff is their salaries.” – he said.
The senior advocate of Nigeria lamented the situation Covid-19 has positioned Nigerian institutions, adding that if UNIOSUN do not resume, the management won’t be able to do much and it will put the school in a dire state.
In his remark, while addressing the staff, he thanked them for their dedication to the development of the institution thereby encouraging them not to abandon their work anytime the institution is facing any challenge.
In attendance were the Governing Council Members, Prof. Labode Popoola, the Vice Chancellor, the two Deputy Vice Chancellor,
Prof. Janet Olaitan and
Prof. Anthony Olusanya, Engineer Tunde Ponle among others.
Recall that Olofofo Uniosun previously reported in July 2020, that the Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola renewed the tenure of the Governing Council premised on the developments the institution has witnessed within the past 5 years.
