UNIOSUN Advancement Office hosted Olofofo Uniosun Crew at the University Main Campus;
Osogbo, Osun State. The hosting was as a result of the courtesy visit paid to the office on March 7th, 2019 by Olofofo Uniosun Crew.
The courtesy visit which started at 11 A.M and lasted for one hour was opened by the CEO of Olofofo Uniosun; Mr Olatunde Temitayo. He introduced the crew and the purpose of the courtesy visit which is premised on knowing much about the office as well as celebrating their contribution to the University.
Mr. Marcus Awobifa; the Director of UNIOSUN Advancement Office lauded the crew for being time-conscious as they arrived at the agreed time. He said that there is no university that can survive without an advancement office.
“UNIOSUN Advancement office was formerly known as Development office. This office is in charge of any donation, scholarship and grant to the University. Also, it keeps record and makes a yearly publication of benefactors. Clearance for graduating students is also done in our office” – he said.
The Director noted that the 250 million naira that Dr Folorunsho Alakija released to the University was done through the Advancement Office among other donations. He further revealed the plan of the University to have an Alumni portal that each graduate of the University will have an account.
Mr. Marcus charged students and alumni of the University to make donations to the University while he lamented the approach of some Nigerians to the concept of donation which some see as a “Give and Take” business.
“We have students whose parents are very rich while some students came from low-income family. Those who have rich parents should tell their parents to donate to the University. We are also working on getting scholarships for some students who came from low-income family so that they can sit for this semester examination.” – Mr. Marcus added.
The Director however commended Olofofo Uniosun crew and also advised them to invite alumni who are working in reputable media house for talks so that they can be more enlightened.
