The Vice Chancellor of Osun State University; Professor Labode Popoola lauded UNIOSUN Cultural troupe over the successful delivery of the 7th convocation play.
The convocation play titled Igatibi written by Professor Ahmed Yerima and directed by Professor Muyiwa Awodiya, was staged around 5pm on 19th November, 2018 inside Olagunsoye Oyinlola Auditorium in Osogbo main campus.
Professor Labode Popoola applauded the students from Ikire campus who acted professionally during the programme. The Don described their drama presentation as a perfect delivery.
“I must confess, I have not been privileged to watch a live performance like this before. This looks so natural” – he said.
He acknowledged the immense contribution of Professor Awodiya who directed the convocation noting that he was informed late, yet, he delivered as promised.
The Vice Chancellor further apprised the cultural troupe to stick together in order to ensure sustainability.
Also, the director of the convocation, Professor Awodiya expressed his gratitude to the university for allowing them to express themselves dramatically.
“These are students of this institution. Thank you for allowing us to express ourselves dramatically and we promise to give you more” – Professor Awodiya said.
While Olofofo Uniosun was speaking with one of the Assistant Directors of the production; Adedeji Damilola who doubles as a Graduand of the institution, she expressed her gladness over the successful production of the theatre performance. She described her involvement as a rare privilege given to her by her principal; Professor Awodiya. She also thanked the crew members for their professional delivery of the play.
